The Backpacker opened its doors in 1974 as Baton Rouge's 1st outdoor shop with it's philosophy of selection, service and quality. With the opening of our second store in Lafayette, the Backpacker has grown into Louisiana's premier outfitter offering the largest selection of outdoor gear, with our "Price Match Guarantee". As well as carrying everything for your travel and outdoor needs, our Baton Rouge location is an official Boy Scout and Girl Scout distributor, and home to the C.C. Lockwood Gallery.
